Our Commitment to Protecting All Users

Tawasaw is committed to providing a safe environment for all users, especially minors. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

1. Zero Tolerance for CSAE and CSAM

Tawasaw strictly prohibits all forms of child sexual abuse and exploitation, including but not limited to:

  • Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Any content that depicts, promotes, or facilitates child sexual abuse
  • Grooming: Any attempt to build relationships with minors for the purpose of sexual abuse or exploitation
  • Solicitation: Any request for sexual content involving minors
  • Trafficking: Any content that facilitates or promotes child trafficking
  • Exploitation: Any content that exploits children in any manner

Consequences: Any user found violating these policies will face immediate account termination and will be reported to law enforcement authorities.

2. Reporting Mechanism

In-App Reporting

Users can report inappropriate content, behavior, or safety concerns directly through the app:

  • Navigate to the user's profile or content in question
  • Tap the three-dot menu icon
  • Select "Report"
  • Choose the appropriate category and provide details

All reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Urgent matters are prioritized immediately.

3. Our Response Process

  1. Immediate Review: All reports are reviewed by our safety team within 24 hours. CSAE/CSAM reports are prioritized and reviewed immediately.
  2. Content Removal: Violating content is removed immediately upon confirmation.
  3. Account Action: Violating accounts are suspended or permanently banned based on severity.
  4. Law Enforcement Reporting: Confirmed CSAM is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement authorities.
  5. User Notification: Reporters are notified of the outcome when appropriate.

4. Legal Compliance

Tawasaw complies with all applicable child safety laws and regulations, including:

  • Reporting confirmed CSAM to NCMEC (National Center for Missing & Exploited Children) in the United States
  • Reporting to relevant regional authorities in other jurisdictions
  • Cooperating fully with law enforcement investigations
  • Maintaining records as required by law
  • Implementing age verification measures (minimum age: 16+)

5. Age Verification and Restrictions

  • Minimum Age: Users must be at least 16 years old to use Tawasaw
  • Age Verification: Users provide their date of birth during registration
  • Account Monitoring: We monitor for underage users and remove accounts that violate our age requirements

6. Proactive Safety Measures

In addition to responding to reports, Tawasaw implements proactive measures to protect users:

  • Content moderation and monitoring systems
  • Automated detection of potentially harmful content
  • User education about online safety
  • Privacy controls and blocking features
  • Group moderation tools for community leaders

7. Transparency and Accountability

Tawasaw is committed to transparency in our child safety efforts:

  • We cooperate with safety organizations and law enforcement
